Oxycodone Pills | What Does OxyContin Look Like?

Oxycodone can look like pills or tablets that are white, off-white, orange, pink, or blue in color. Legal prescriptions of oxycodone and its combination products can take this form. Illegal oxycodone may look like legal forms of the drug, as well as a powder or a watery solution.

The potent synthetic opioid fentanyl may be disguised as oxycodone pills and sold to buyers without their knowledge. While counterfeit oxycodone pills may not contain oxycodone, they can be more dangerous when taken.

Oxycodone is a Schedule II controlled substance with a high potential for substance abuse. Obtaining oxycodone solely from legal sources and taking the drug as directed can reduce your risk of negative health effects.

    What Does Oxycodone Look Like?

Brand name forms of oxycodone, such as OxyContin, Percocet, and Roxicodone, may take the form of round pills and tablets.

Identification letters and numbers may be imprinted on each individual pill. These characters can vary depending on the manufacturer, the strength of the drug, and the formulation used.

The most common colors & imprints for oxycodone pills and tablets include:

    White Oxycodone Pills

    • 30 M (30mg) Round Pill
    • A 215 (30mg) Round Pill

These prescription drugs may contain oxycodone as the primary active ingredient, or combine oxycodone with acetaminophen. Both pure oxycodone prescription drugs and oxycodone combination products may take similar appearances.

What Does Illicit Oxycodone Look Like?

As an illicit drug, oxycodone can still look like small pills and tablets in various colors. Illicit oxycodone may also look like powder or a watery solution.

Taking illegal oxycodone can increase your risk of side effects, such as dry mouth, constipation, drowsiness, and sedation. Illicit use of oxycodone may not be regulated by a healthcare provider, which can lead to high-risk patterns of substance use.

    Counterfeit Oxycodone

Buying oxycodone on the illicit drug market may increase the risk of encountering counterfeit oxycodone. Counterfeit forms of oxycodone may look identical to brand name drugs such as Percocet. However, these pills and tablets may contain stronger opioid drugs such as fentanyl.

It can be difficult or even impossible to tell counterfeit oxycodone apart from standard formulations of the drug, making oxycodone a potentially dangerous product to buy illegally.

Taking counterfeit oxycodone can have an increased risk of opioid overdose, since you may unknowingly ingest high amounts of opioids at once. Opioid overdose can lead to respiratory depression, decreased heart rate and blood pressure, coma, and death.
