- Paying For Rehab
Michigan has seen a 14% increase in drug overdose deaths from 2019 to 2020. But that increase is not due to a lack of treatment options. In Clinton Township alone, there are 22 rehab facilities within a 10-mile radius.
If you or a loved one are looking to get help for substance use disorder, you have several recovery options available.
Substance Abuse Treatment In Clinton Township, Michigan
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities Administration are the primary government agencies that work to provide and support substance abuse services.

- dial 2-1-1 for community resources and referrals to treatment facilities
- use the SAMHSA treatment locator to find treatment centers local to you
Clinton Township Alcohol & Drug Treatment Programs
Most of the drug rehab centers in Clinton Township offer a variety of treatment programs. To determine which programs are best for you, an addiction specialist will evaluate you when you enter treatment. From there, they’ll likely build a treatment plan customized to you.
Your treatment plan may include:
- medical detoxification
- inpatient/residential treatment
- outpatient treatment
- dual-diagnosis treatment for mental health disorders
- medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
- aftercare
Medical Drug & Alcohol Detox
Medical detox programs have you stay in a safe environment while you come off of drugs and/or alcohol. This short-term process lasts about 3-7 days and ensures medical professionals are available to address potential withdrawal symptoms.
Residential/Inpatient Drug Rehab
With inpatient drug rehab, you live at a treatment facility for the entirety of your stay. How long you’re there depends on a variety of factors, but on average lasts around 30 days.
Inpatient treatment likely provides behavioral therapy, group therapy, and family services. It can also offer treatment for co-occurring mental illnesses, if necessary.
Outpatient Treatment
Outpatient treatment consists of intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), or standard outpatient programs.
All outpatient services likely offer behavioral and group therapy, and support groups. One benefit of outpatient treatment is that it allows you to stay at home in between each treatment session.
Opioid & Alcohol Treatment Options
Opioid and alcohol addiction is often treated with medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Despite its name, MAT doesn’t just consist of medication; therapy is also a big part of it.
Medication is used to ease cravings and heal some of the physical damage of alcohol or drug abuse. Therapy is used to help with relapse prevention and to change your thought process.
Some medications used in MAT include Suboxone, naltrexone, and methadone.
Aftercare
Many rehab centers offer aftercare support to help you once you graduate from treatment. It ensures you’re more likely to maintain your sobriety once you leave treatment.
Aftercare may consist of resources like sober-living homes, counseling, and support groups.
Using Health Insurance For Addiction Treatment In Clinton Township, Michigan
When it comes to the cost of addiction treatment, the price can be steep. Luckily, private insurance and Medicaid/Medicare may cover some of the cost. How much insurance covers depends on your plan, the type of treatment you receive, and the provider.
To find out whether your insurance will cover your treatment, you can:
- call the number on the back of your insurance card and discuss your benefits with a representative
- contact rehab facilities to discuss whether they take your insurance or not
- look over your insurance documents and familiarize yourself with your benefits and which treatment providers are covered
If you’re uninsured, there are lots of options available to help you pay for treatment. Look for drug and alcohol rehab programs that are state-run, offer a sliding fee scale, or provide financial assistance.
