Anderson, Indiana Alcohol And Drug Rehab Centers

Madison County, where Anderson resides, saw a significant rise in deaths related to drug abuse in the past few years.

But that’s not a reason to completely lose hope. With over 30 rehab facilities in Anderson and another 45 around Indianapolis, local help is available for those living with substance use disorder.

Substance Abuse Treatment In Anderson, Indiana

The two government agencies that oversee addiction treatment in Indiana include the Family and Social Services Administration and the Division of Mental Health and Addiction (DMHA). The DMHA certifies treatment centers and sets the care standards of rehab and recovery.

To find treatment centers in and around Anderson, you can:

Anderson Alcohol & Drug Treatment Programs

Most of the treatment facilities in Anderson offer a range of addiction treatment programs. When you enter treatment, an addiction specialist will likely help you choose which treatment programs fit your needs.

These programs become part of your treatment plan, which may include:

    Medical Drug & Alcohol Detox

Medical detox is a relatively short-term process at the beginning of treatment. If you still have drugs and/or alcohol in your system when starting rehab, medical detox allows those substances to leave your body while you’re in a safe and medically supervised environment.

When those substances exit your system, unpleasant withdrawal symptoms are likely to occur. When they do, healthcare professionals may provide medications to alleviate them. This process likely takes 3-7 days.

    Residential/Inpatient Drug Rehab

Inpatient drug rehab, on average, lasts 30-90 days and involves living at a treatment facility.

While in inpatient rehab, you participate in behavioral therapy, group therapy, and other mental health services, if necessary. You’ll also learn more about your addiction, forge connections with peers at the recovery center, and develop coping skills for relapse prevention.

    Outpatient Treatment

If inpatient treatment isn’t right for you, an intensive outpatient program (IOP) or partial hospitalization program (PHP) might be a better fit.

These programs allow you to live at home when you’re not in treatment. They provide behavioral and group therapy but can also include medication-assisted treatment and support groups.

    Opioid & Alcohol Treatment Programs

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is one common form of treatment used for opioid and alcohol addiction. MAT consists of medication and counseling.

The medication is used to ease cravings and balance the brain’s chemistry. A few of the medications used in MAT include methadone, disulfiram, and buprenorphine.

    Aftercare

Graduation from a drug and alcohol rehab program doesn’t mean you will no longer need help with your recovery. Problems may spring up, but you don’t have to face them alone.

Aftercare provides resources to help you once you’ve left treatment. It can come in the form of sober-living homes, alumni groups, and ongoing therapy.

Using Health Insurance For Addiction Treatment In Anderson, Indiana

Private insurance and Medicare/Medicaid cover addiction treatment, but depending on the plan you have, they may not cover all the costs. To determine what treatment providers and programs your plan covers, you can:

    • contact your insurance provider and discuss your benefits and approved treatment providers
    • call treatment centers and ask which insurance plans they accept
    • read over your insurance policy and find out what your benefits cover and what they don’t

If you’re uninsured, look for drug rehab centers that offer payment plans, a sliding fee scale, or other types of financial assistance.
